Mrs. Wilma Irene Coogler 79, of McDonough, departed this life Thursday, March 2, 2006. at Henry Medical Center in Stockbridge.

Mrs. Coogler was born Nov. 9, 1926. in Bledsoe County, Tenn., daughter of the late Samuel Lloyd and Leta Mae Skillern Swafford. Her husband, Joseph Frank Coogler Jr. also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph ‘Joe’ and Terri Coogler of McDonough; grandsons, Michael Coogler and the Rev. Joseph and his wife, Rachel Coogler; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Jean Swafford of Fayetteville; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Flo and Edward Groce Roberson of Pikeville, Tenn.; nieces and nephews, Bill, Linda and Yvonne Roberson and Tim and Terry Swafford.

Services are Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Joshua Coogler officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Antioch Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.
