Photographer stages glamorous photoshoot for girl who was banned from class photos over red hair

Marian Scott was left devastated last month after she was stopped from participating in school picture day because of her dyed red hair extensions. But the Michigan third-grader has turned her frown upside down with a new set of photos that showcase not only her red hair, but her fabulous fashion, too. Marian made headlines in October after she was told by Paragon Charter Academy staffers that her red hair violated the school dress code, which stated that hairstyles must be “conservative” and “of natural tones.” Her father Doug Scott said at the time he found the incident “upsetting,” and that Marian was forced to stand in the hallway with tears in her eyes as the rest of her classmates had their photos taken, Today Parents reported. — People

Arizona man who sold ammunition to Las Vegas massacre gunman pleads guilty

A man who sold ammunition to the Las Vegas massacre gunman pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Nevada to federal charges related to an illegal ammunition business he operated out of his Arizona home. Douglas Haig, 57, was not accused of a direct role in the Oct. 1, 2017, shooting that killed 58 and injured more than 850 at an open-air music festival. Prosecutors never suggested that he had advance knowledge of the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history. — Fox News

10 people indicted after investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Ohio University fraternity pledge

Ten people — including seven fraternity members — were indicted after an investigation into the death of an 18-year-old fraternity pledge at Ohio University last year, prosecutors said. Collin Wiant was pledging the Sigma Pi fraternity at the university’s Athens campus in November 2018. A lawsuit filed by his parents in February alleges he was subjected to severe hazing including being beaten with a belt, punched, made to take drugs, forced to drink a gallon of alcohol in an hour and deprived of sleep. The lawsuit cites a toxicology report that showed he died of nitrous oxide ingestion. — CNN

Navy seeks to eject sailor championed by Trump, three others from elite SEALs, official says

The Navy will review whether a sailor who was convicted of posing with the corpse of an ISIS captive before President Donald Trump intervened should be allowed to remain in the elite SEAL corps, along with three of his supervising officers, a defense official told NBC News on Tuesday night. A military jury acquitted Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher of murder and war crimes charges in July but convicted him of having posed with the teenage ISIS fighter’s corpse. He was ordered dropped in rank from chief to petty officer first class. Trump last week reversed the order, directing Gallagher’s restoration as chief petty officer. — NBC News
