Today's Forum for Aug. 6

“All these Northerners came south and now want to change our Southern culture just like illegals coming here want to change our American culture. Keep the statues where they are and you people against the South go back north or wherever you came from.”

“Christine Flowers, there you go again. Every movement/organization has people who fall well below the standards of a group. Is it just possible that you searched around for cases that fit your narrative? Don’t worry, I won’t judge all conservative columnists by your column, which I usually find to be duplicitous and selective in its judgments.”

“Funny how there’s no great clamor to put up a statue of A.L. McCamy. Seems like remembering history only matters when it’s the parts you like.”

“In Genesis chapter 1, God created the heavens and the Earth, moon, sun and the stars and all the creatures on the Earth and sea. Male and female last. He created man and woman. I just wonder how much has been spent on evaluation when it was all in Genesis chapter 1, free for the reading.”

“If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. If a Democrat is down-and-out he wonders how the government is going to take care of him.”

“After the great ISO drop my insurance went up $40 a year. Insurance company claims it is because they have had so many homeowner claims. Seems some of us got scammed. Also tried contacting the insurance commissioner about it and never gotten a response.”

“I am beginning to think that members of the Senate and House should not be elected but selected by a random draft and allowed to serve four years only. This couldn’t produce anything as bad as our career politicians do.”

“Donald Trump’s reaction to John McCain’s death shows the world that he is just a child.”

“I’m a Republican, but come Election Day I will be voting Democratic.”

“I noticed in the paper where they want a 1 percent SPLOST to build some more soccer fields. I’ve got a better idea. They need to take that money and get these roads repaired and the drainages all cleaned out. That would be worth a whole lot more than another soccer field.”

“After reading the article about the SPLOST may go to building soccer fields, I sure am not going to vote for SPLOST now. I think that the money can be used better in other areas that need it worse than soccer fields.”

“Rather than use SPLOST funds to build soccer fields, why don’t you have the fans pay a $1 entry fee to watch the games? That way you’d have enough money to build soccer fields but not burden the taxpayers who are already burdened quite enough, dare I say.”

“Somebody tell me what law has the president broken?”

“I read in the Forum about this person sitting and waiting for a doctor’s appointment. They asked why do they book that many? They book them because that’s more money. They don’t care how long you sit there. You go in there and if you need a shot, they call in the nurse to give you a shot. They don’t care. They’re making money off of you whether you’re in there or not.”
