“Just want to tell you how much I enjoy your new Friday ‘Touchdown’ section in the paper. It’s so easy now to see where all the local schools are playing. Thank you so much. It’s a pleasure to look at it. I can’t wait until Friday to see where our schools are going and who they are playing.”
“I woke up in the MICU unit in the hospital a couple of months ago. I told every doctor that came in there, ‘You can do what you want to do but I don’t have any supplemental insurance. The only thing I’ve got is Medicare and I don’t have any money. So if you’re willing to do what you’ve gotta do for what Medicare pays, fine.’ Well, everyone kept coming in, the doctors and stuff, and now they’re flooding me with bills that I can’t pay, that I don’t have the money to pay. So do I have anything I can do? Any recourse on this garbage?”

“It should be obvious what’s going on with the code enforcement. They took these guys off regular patrol and they have to find something for them to do all day. And you’re right that it won’t happen in rich neighborhoods. It will be in marginal areas of town like East Dalton and North Dalton where they find problems. The rich people will go unscathed.”
“Donald Trump likes to take all of the credit for the good economy. Barack Obama worked hard at saving the economy. For seven years the economy was on the rise. Donald Trump inherited a little less than 5 percent unemployment. Now, Donald Trump has built on that record and the economy is doing real good. Having said that, the Bible describes greed as idolatry. Have we as Americans grown so accustomed to a good life that we will overlook Donald Trump’s crookedness, his ugly mouth for a good economy?”
“Obama is nothing but a complete loser compared to our great President Donald Trump, who is making American great again.”
“I saw a little article in your paper that says 1 in 4 college students has mental conditions. That’s very believable when you watch them on television when they’re demonstrating for socialism and acting like Antifa and all the others, needing safe spaces, etc., etc., etc.”
“This is for the person that put ‘Nike shoes forever. Courage and conviction on social injustice. Like Kaepernick, I think Americans can be greater.’ So explain to everyone what you and Kaepernick are doing to make America greater. Just wearing your Nikes?”
“Sarcasm alert: Poor old Nike. They might not survive this Kaepernick controversy.”

“The other day I was traveling north on Waugh Street. When I got to the bottom of the street near the high school I noticed a girl crossing the street in front of me. She didn’t see me, obviously, because she had headphones on and was texting. So I slowed, finally stopped. She walked by and finally looked up, saw me, waved and I waved back and went on up to the stop light. When I got to the stop light, there was a pickup truck already there so I zipped my window down to ask the person ‘Did you see that?’ And you guessed it, darned if they weren’t texting. That’s the truth. Oh well, welcome to the real world.”
