TIFTON, Ga. – Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) physicians, leaders and clinicians gathered today to celebrate the Center of Distinction Award, which was given to TRMC by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. The center achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. There were 512 centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 221 achieved the honor.
“We are excited about this recognition,” said James Nixon, FACHE, vice president of Administrative and Clinical Services with Tift Regional Health System. “It validates the care and expertise of our wound care team here at Tift Regional. Our program continues to grow in this much needed service area. The beauty of this service is that it directly impacts the quality of life for our patients. It’s fulfilling to see a patient come-in at risk of losing a limb or who has had a longstanding wound that would not heal and leave our program fully restored.”
