Letter: Help make the system better

Think of Dalton’s future

If the city got a group of goats here, we could clean up all the brush in the area.

Looks like we have one “scape” goat here who lost his job and the other goats just sat back and watched it happen and are not even eating crow. If this is fair politics, then Dalton has a long way to go. And who else will want the city manager’s job?

We need young and innovative minds and action. We must move forward even knowing that it is a hard thing for so many to do. We all (well, some of us) want to see Dalton grow and thrive and be a place for young people to want to come back to and raise their families. They want bike trails and greenspace parks and places to go for community experiences (and not just an open field) along with interesting jobs and futures for themselves and their children. I do not know the real estate person involved in this city case but sure wish he had the future of Dalton in mind and could have at least cut his “penalty” in half. Oh, do not tell me it is “business” as I am aware of that premise, but as a thriving business person here I wish it had been a thought.

It could have at least paid out the small amount paid to Mr. Ty Ross. Choose wisely, board, as our future here is at stake. Mr. Ross had our future in mind, do you?
