John ‘J.T.’ Fauscette

John ‘J.T’ Fauscette, 85, of Cohutta, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Hamilton Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Delia Fauscette and a brother, Calvin Fauscette.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of WWII. He served with the European Theater and fought on the German Front for 91 days. He received a purple heart and other numerous honors throughout his military career. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 and received an honorable discharge in 1946. He was employed as a general contractor until his retirement.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mildred Fauscette of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Carmen and Marc S. Middleton of Rapids City, Ill.; son, Ronald B. Fauscette of Cohutta; two sisters, Maudie Baker and Sue Smith, both of Dalton; brother, Trammell Lee Fauscette of Harbor City, Calif.; five grandchildren, Tanya and Eddie Brooker, Marc C. Middleton, Erick, Jennifer and Teresa Fauscette; two great-grandchildren, Blake and Benjamin Brooker; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Truett Nimmons officiating.
Burial will be in Varnell Cemetery. American Legion Post #112 will be in charge of graveside military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Pallbearers will be Marc C. Middleton, Erick Fauscette, Eddie Brooker, Dwight Blanchard, Matt Stewart and Terry Blanchard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m.
