Area Arrests for Aug. 16

Editor’s note: The following information is compiled from public records taken from reports from local law enforcement agencies.

• A 35-year-old Dalton man was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with DUI (drugs).

• A 69-year-old Tunnel Hill woman was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI (drugs) and improper lane change or usage.

• A 45-year-old Dalton man was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of a schedule 4 drug, DUI (drugs), operating a motor vehicle without a proper tag/decal and impeding the flow of traffic.

• A 31-year-old Dalton man was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of a schedule 1/2 drug with intent to distribute and use of communication facilities in drug transactions.

• A 50-year-old Dalton man was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale of cocaine, trafficking in opium or derivative (sale), possession of a schedule 2 drug, sale of a schedule 1/2 drug, use of communication facilities in drug transactions, possession and use of drug-related objects and misdemeanor failure to appear.

• A 45-year-old Dalton man was charged Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, failure to maintain lane and tag light required.

• A 39-year-old Detroit, Michigan, man was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 5 drug, possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession and use of drug-related objects and felony tampering with evidence.

• A 28-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee, man was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 5 drug, possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession and use of drug-related objects, DUI (multiple substances), misdemeanor fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving.
