Debbie Macon is an unsung hero who helps brighten the days of and bring joy to the participants at RossWoods Adult Day Services, according to longtime board member Ben Laughter.
“My nomination of Debbie for Citizen of the Week is supported by a unanimous vote of our Board of Directors,” he said. “Ever since we built the new facility, Debbie has been the unofficial person in charge of maintaining the building and grounds. She does great work to enhance the experience at RossWoods. And she can be a taskmaster when necessary.”
Debbie’s husband Bryan is the chairman of the Board of Directors at RossWoods, succeeding its longtime chairman, Dr. Sherwood Jones. Bryan Macon has nothing but praise for Debbie’s efforts to improve the quality of life for the participants at RossWoods.
With the great appreciation of Carlene Mutter, executive director of RossWoods, Debbie Macon takes on tasks that increase the functionality of the RossWoods building and the beauty of RossWoods’ grounds for all the participants.
“Debbie works tirelessly to make sure the surroundings here at RossWoods are beautiful and enjoyed by so many,” said Mutter. “She puts in the work, pulling up weeds, planting seasonal flowers, spreading mulch and keeping everything bright and cheerful for our participants, their caregivers, our staff and community. We definitely would not have such a tranquil environment if she were not here for us.”
For her efforts to make RossWoods a better place for its participants, the Dalton Daily Citizen names Debbie Macon Citizen of the Week.
