For several years, young volunteers from Christian Heritage School have “demonstrated remarkable commitment and compassion through their ongoing partnership with” City of Refuge Dalton, said City of Refuge Dalton CEO Pamela Cudd.

City of Refuge Dalton provides services to low-income families, including transitional housing, a food pantry, a clothing store, education programs for both children and adults, hot meals and a program that delivers food to senior citizens at their home.

“Each week, a dedicated team of students, along with their sponsor Reba Barnes, faithfully assists with packing and delivering food boxes to senior adults in our community who are facing challenges,” Cudd said. “Beyond meeting physical needs, these students take the time to visit, uplift and offer meaningful encouragement to those they serve, bringing both nourishment and joy into their lives.”

Cudd said the students’ work not only helps combat food insecurity but “provides emotional support to some of our most vulnerable neighbors. It is both inspiring and heartwarming to witness the next generation stepping up with such heart and dedication. The impact they are making is profound.”

For their efforts to help City of Refuge Dalton help those in need, the Dalton Daily Citizen names the servant leaders of Christian Heritage School Citizens of the Week.
