June T. Cheatham

June Taylor Cheatham, 78, of Orangeburg, S.C., died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Longwood Plantation.

Mrs. Cheatham was born in Ware Shoals, S.C., a daughter of the late Laurence Clifton Taylor and Lillian Elizabeth Deck Taylor. She was a graduate of Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing, and after a 40-year career, she retired from The Methodist Home where she worked as director of nurses and as supervisor of the infirmary. Mrs. Cheatham was a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church, the Chancel Choir and the Adult Handbell Choir.

She was predeceased by her former husband, Martin C. Cheatham.

Survivors include three sons, Sam A. (Terry) Cheatham of Lexington, S.C.; L. Michael (Jennifer) Cheatham of Taylors, S.C.; and Deck C. (Nancy) Cheatham of Dalton; daughter, Harris C. (Thurston) Murray of Orangeburg; brother, Larry C. Taylor of Ware Shoals; eight grandchildren, Weston, Leigh, Mark and Will Cheatham; Laura Murray and Blake, Sarah and Elizabeth Cheatham; two great-grandchildren, Colby and Bennett Cheatham.

Memorial services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews United Methodist Church with the Rev. Will Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
