Cancer risk awareness Wellspring for Women focus

The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation’s 2007 Wellspring for Women luncheon series beginning this month will feature three consecutive programs reflecting the importance of cancer risk awareness.

Back by popular demand as the featured speaker for the first in the three-part series is Blackie Scott. A popular humorist, author, entertainment consultant and cancer survivor, Blackie shares her personal experiences of embracing life’s battles through her motivational presentations. As a cancer survivor she inspires others to find their healing spirit and practice simple acts of kindness.

“Attitude: It’s an Inside Job”, will illustrate how a positive attitude can influence how well you live and how long you live.

“By definition, Wellspring refers to a starting point, a fresh beginning, a new direction. Our goal in the development of this luncheon series is to reach women in the Dalton community with relevant, timely information regarding issues affecting health and well-being, such as cancer risk awareness, while providing an interesting and entertaining opportunity for fellowship during the lunch hour,” said Pat Caldwell, chair of the Wellspring series.

The program on February 22 will begin at 12 noon at Royal Oaks at 1220 Broadrick Drive. The cost of the luncheon program is $15 per person. To register, call the Whitfield Healthcare Foundation at 706-272-6128 or register online at www.hamiltonhealth. com.
