ATLANTA (AP) — A security breach may have exposed the personal information of about 3,000 current and former Georgia Tech employees, university officials said.
The information could include names, addresses and Social Security numbers, in addition to about 400 state purchasing card numbers, officials said in a news release Wednesday. Most of the employees are in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The breach, which is under investigation by the university, has not lead to any misuse of the information so far, according to the news release. The university contacted by letter the individuals affected and has alerted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the news release said.
