Miss Martha Ann Babb, 67, of Dalton, departed this life Thursday evening, Dec. 11, 2008 at Hamilton Medical Center.

Miss Babb was born in Whitfield County June 10, 1941, a daughter of the late Delmar and Bessie Morgan Babb.

Miss Babb is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Tina and John Bearden of Calhoun and Jeanette and J. Emmett Welch of Dade City, Fla.; she was a loving aunt to all of her nieces and nephews who survive, Johnny Bearden, Danny Bearden, David Bearden, Martha Walraven, Jimmy Welch, Debbie Welch and Beth Carpenter; great-nephews and great-nieces, Carry Bearden, Micah Bearden, Zack Bearden, Callie Bearden, Chase Bearden, Shannon Walraven, Jonathan Walraven, Shane Welch, Allyson Walls, Victoria Carpenter, Vanessa Carpenter and Valerie Carpenter; great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces, Hannah Cox, Katie Cox, Brandon Welch, Connor Welch and Madison Walls.

Services to celebrate the life of Miss Martha Ann Babb are Monday at 1 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Pastor Stacey Carpenter officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Mill Creek Cemetery with her nephews and great-nephews serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today and Sunday after 5 p.m.
