Mr. Jeffery Roger Doran, 60, of Chatsworth, departed this life Friday morning, June 6, 2008, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.

Roger was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Walker County, a son of the late John Cecil Doran and Jewell Inez Ledford Doran. He was also proceeded in death by a son, Jeffery Roger Doran II and a brother, John Cecil Doran II.

Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Holmes Doran of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan Wade and Stacey Doran of Ringgold, Shannon Edward Weaver and Casey Michelle Petty of Dalton; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Michelle and James Hoyt Bridges of Dalton; brother, Richard Donald Doran of LaFayette; sister-in-law, Ann Doran of Rock Spring; sisters, Audrey Osborn of Chickamauga, Doris and C.F. Strickland of Ringgold, Sandra and John Masterantonia of Gravesville; mother-in-law, Doris Holmes of Eatonton; grandchildren, Jeffery Lane Doran, Bryan Wade Doran II; Makenzie Bridges, Jacob Tyler Bridges, Ethan Riley Weaver, Jaylee Weaver, Alexis Hunter McHulloch; special friends, Cindy Toliver, Johnny Frady and Junior Jackson; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roger Doran are today at 11 a.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. C.F. Strickland officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1 p.m.
