The Dalton State College Center for Continuing Education will host its final digital photography how-to class on Thursday in the James E. Brown Center. Professional photographer and popular instructor Tom Cory will lead the one-night workshop titled I Didn’t Know My Digital Camera Could Do That: In-Camera Special Effects.
“This course is designed for photographers who are comfortable with their digital cameras but aren’t really getting all of their bang for their buck,” said Kelly Snyder, personal enrichment program coordinator. “Digital cameras are amazing technological tools, but most amateur photographers get into a boring comfort zone or rut with what they are willing to try and what modes and features they use on their cameras. Tom will demonstrate how to take digital photography to a new level with in-camera creative controls.”
This course is a hands-on workshop, so students are asked to bring a digital camera to class. They will be taking photographs and should be prepared to go outdoors.
“This course is not about manipulating images on a computer,” Snyder said. “It’s about using a digital camera to its fullest capabilities. There is no additional fancy equipment needed for this class, just students and their digital cameras. Students will be thrilled with the knowledge they gain in this course. Professional photographers Pat and Tom Cory have been wonderful instructors for Dalton State College’s Continuing Education Department through the years. It is appropriate that Tom is conducting our final how-to photography class. I’m sure he has an exceptional class planned for Thursday night full of creative tips and surprises.”
Pre-registration is required for this class, and class size is limited. Call (706) 272-4454 or log on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce to register.
