First Baptist Dalton senior minister resigns

Bill Wilson, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Dalton, has announced his resignation. In September, Wilson will become the president of the Center for Congregational Health in Winston Salem, N.C.. The Center for Congregational Health assists congregations in becoming healthier communities of faith and serves congregations from many denominations.

“I will have the opportunity to minister to a wide array of congregations, clergy and laity,” Wilson said. “I believe this is the job God has been preparing me for across many years.”

Wilson has been the senior pastor at First Baptist Church of Dalton since August 2003. Church officials say he has led the church “through a major building and renovation project; numerous local, national and international mission endeavors; and individual personal and spiritual growth opportunities.”
