Mr. Rodney Keith Higgins, 55, of Dalton, departed this life Friday, April 24, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Higgins was born Feb. 17, 1954, in Whitfield County. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Higgins.

He attended Grace Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Beverley Ogle Higgins; mother, Dimple Morrison; son, Stacy DeFoor; sister, Kim Johns all of Dalton; brother, Bruce Travillian of Tunnel Hil; grandchildren, Joe Burley DeFoor and Dougie DeFoor; mother-in-law, Ollie Ogle of Dalton; grandmother, Lillian Higgins of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters-in-laws, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Brother Chris Corbin officiating.

Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens with Stacy DeFoor, Bruce Travillian, Mike Woodard, Eric Griffin, Caleb Travillian, and Rick Patterson will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and Monday.
