Water safety instructor course offered at Dalton State

Dalton State College is offering an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course beginning Saturday, May 2.

Taught by veteran swim instructor and coach Marta Hannah, WSI combines classroom and pool time to provide students with comprehensive training required to safely and effectively teach swimming courses to children and adults.

Students will develop an understanding of correctly using Red Cross course materials and will learn how to conduct training sessions and lessons.

Hannah will also teach students how to evaluate the progress of participants in their classes. Water safety instructors are qualified to teach both public and private lessons.
