Registered nurses interested in providing a health ministry in their churches or synagogues are invited to join the Fall 2012 Faith Community Nurse/Parish Nurse Class offered by Memorial.

The 22nd Faith Community Nurse/Parish Nurse Class will begin on August 15, 2012, and end with a commissioning service on October 9, 2012. Three 8-hour day sessions are scheduled for August 15, 22, and 29; three 3-hour evening sessions will be held on September 6 and 20 and October 4. All six sessions must be completed to meet course requirements. The application process including tuition deposit is due by August 1, 2012.

“Because of the importance of the spiritual dimension in life and healing, Memorial offers this program to prepare registered nurses to establish health ministry programs in their congregations or faith communities,” explains Connie Blake, Faith Community Nursing Coordinator. “Faith Community/Parish nurses serve as a vital link between health care and church communities.”
