Citizen of the Week: Beverly Jacques ‘is faithful as all get out’

Beverly Jacques has a heart for giving and for serving others, said Robert Hill, founder and president of Dalton’s Greater Works.

Founded in 1996, Dalton’s Greater Works provides services to the homeless and indigent in the community, including through a food pantry and a clothing “store” where those in need can get clothing.

“She is a mother, a grandmother and a great-grandmother, and she is faithful as all get out,” Hill said of Jacques.

Jacques has volunteered with Greater Works for about six months. She began after Hill made a presentation at Dalton’s Rock Bridge Community Church, which she attends, about Greater Works and what it does.

“She felt led to volunteer her time with us,” he said. “She comes in on Mondays and Tuesdays and serves coffee and then helps us serve lunch.”

“She’s a really sweet lady,” Hill said. “She volunteers a lot of time with us, and we are very grateful for all that she does.”

For her efforts to help Dalton’s Greater Works serve those in need, the Daily Citizen names Beverly Jacques Citizen of the Week.
