Guild outlines upcoming concerts

The Creative Arts Guild wants the public to know about these upcoming concerts.
• Thursday, Oct. 17, the Dalton State College Faculty Trio: Three music instructors from Dalton State College will present a concert at 7:30 p.m.; the trio consists of Ellie Jenkins, horn; Eric Hanson, cello; and Ronda Ford, flute and piano. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors over 65. Dalton State faculty, staff and students are admitted free with a valid ID. • Friday, Oct. 25, the Chattanooga Clarinet Choir: The Guild will host the Chattanooga Clarinet Choir performing at 7:30 p.m.; it is a community ensemble made up of professional, amateur and student musicians who are all volunteer participants. • Thursday, Nov. 7, the Dalton State Singers: The Guild and Dalton State College will present the Dalton State Singers in concert. The group is directed by Andy Baker, a longtime choral director at Dalton High School, who joined the faculty of Dalton State College in August 2018. The concert is supported by the Dalton State Foundation and the School of Liberal Arts. Concert location: 520 W. Waugh St., Dalton. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors over 65. • Saturday, Nov. 9, Muriel Anderson: Anderson, a guitarist, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Selvidge St., Dalton. Anderson will also instruct a special workshop earlier that day for musicians desiring to improve their skill on guitar. The workshop location is the Guild, 520 W. Waugh St., Dalton. Workshop registration is $30 and the concert $20, or $40 for both events.
