Six different players scored goals as Dalton’s boys handed Ridgeland an 8-1 loss in Sub-region 7A-3A play Thursday in Rossville.

The game was scheduled to be played in Dalton, but due to the forecast of inclement weather, the game was moved to Ridgeland because its playing field has artificial turf, Dalton coach Matt Cheaves said.

The Catamounts (5-1, 4-0) made good use of the carpet.

“We’ve been passing the ball well and making some chances,” Cheaves said. “Some of the guys are scoring goals, and the defense is growing and improving. They’re starting to get used to communicating and playing together.”
