Cast of ‘Putnam County Spelling Bee’ announced

The Dalton Little Theatre has announced the cast for its upcoming production of “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

Members are Carol VanWinkle as Rona Perretti, Joey Parrott as VP Douglas Panch, Paul Vaughn as Mitch Mahoney, Tanner Blackton as Olive Ostrovsky, Will Park as William Barfee, Meagan Cobb as Marcy Park, Justin Young as Chip Tolentino, Riley Klotz as Leaf Coneybear and Jenelle Gilreath as Logainne Schwartzandgrubinerre.

This musical comedy is the winner of two 2005 Tony Awards and tells the story of six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grownups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves. They learn that winning isn’t everything and losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.

The play will be presented June 9-10 and 16-17 at 7 p.m., June 11 and 18 at 8 p.m. and June 12 at 2 p.m.
