Hamilton to offer free heart health assessments

During February, American Heart Month, Hamilton Medical Center will offer free heart health assessments at various locations in the area.

The assessments will include cholesterol and blood pressure checks at each location and an additional vascular screening at two of the locations.

The assessments are scheduled for:

• Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Dalton-Whitfield Senior Center, 302 Cappes St., in Dalton (vascular screening included).

• Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Murray County Senior Center, 820 G.I. Maddox Parkway, in Chatsworth.

• Monday, Feb. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Gordon County Senior Center, 150 Cambridge Court, in Calhoun.

• Friday, March 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mack Gaston Community Center, 218 N. Fredrick St. in Dalton (vascular screening included).

Participants may register to win one of four heart health baskets valued at more than $200 each.

“During Heart Month, we want to remind you to take care of your heart,” said Rachel Ogle, marketing outreach manager. “We hope you’ll take advantage of one of these free assessments to get an idea how your heart is doing.”
