• The Big Bingo Game is each first Thursday of the month at the Dalton-Whitfield Senior Center. Today it will be at 10:30 a.m. The sponsor is Dalton Funeral Home.
• “An Evening of Quilting with Peggy Wright” is on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no fee. Call (706) 278-3700 to register.

• A Diabetic Educational Seminar with Kari Intemann with Hamilton Medical Center will be on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. Topics will be Healthy Eating with Diabetes; Checking Blood Sugars: The Why, How & When; How to Treat Low Blood Sugar. This is a free seminar.
• Susan Ingle Daniel Studios’ “Step by Step Acrylic Painting” evening class will be on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8. The cost is $25 with a nonrefundable $10 deposit. A 16 by 20 stretched canvas and paints will be provided.
• Dance Party Fright Night is back on Thursday, Oct. 18. Doors open at 6 p.m. The cost is $5. There will be a costume contest with prizes. Music will be provided by D.J. Services and will begin at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Please pay and sign up in advance so the center can plan the refreshments.
• The annual Harvest Arts and Crafts sponsored by the senior center will be held at the Mack Gaston Community Center on Friday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This show is an opportunity to show the work of the senior community. If you are a senior adult artist and/or crafter and would like to set up, please call (706) 278-3700. The fee to exhibit and sell is $15. The only requirement is you must be 50 years or older. All hand art and crafts This is a free event and open to the public.
