Dalton State’s Counseling Center is sponsoring the event, and members of the counseling department will speak. Other speakers include local law enforcement, mental health providers and community members.
Topics include the dangers of underage drinking as well as ways that parents can begin conversations with their children about drinking. The panel will also review what resources are available to members of the community.
“Our goal is to share information,” said Jenny Guy, associate director of counseling at the college. “This is an effort to educate and show people where they can find supportive resources.”
