Savannah Howell of Rocky Face was named to the Distinguished Achievement List for the fall 2019 semester at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The Distinguished Achievement List is comprised of students who complete between six and 11 hours of academic work with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Kimberly Resendiz Chavez of Chatsworth graduated from Berry College in the fall of 2019 with a degree in psychology.

The following local students were named to the fall 2019 Dean’s List at Berry College. The Dean’s List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Donavon Sims of Cohutta was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2019 semester at Carson-Newman University. The university awards Dean’s List honors to students earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while taking 12 or more credit hours.

Silas A. Ledford of Cohutta graduated from Clemson University with a master of science degree in plant and environmental sciences. He was among more than 1,700 students who received degrees at the Dec. 19, 2019, ceremony at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Jacksonville State University named 2,216 students to the President’s and Deans’ Lists for their academic performance during the fall 2019 semester. To be named to the President’s List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade point average while attending full time. Students earning a grade point average of 3.5-3.99 while attending full time are named to the Dean’s List of their respective schools. Local students included:

Nearly 1,000 students earned degrees from the University of North Georgia during the fall 2019 semester. Local graduates included:

• Roberto Duarte of Dalton, bachelor of fine arts in design tech for theatre

• Madison Gowin of Dalton, bachelor of science in nursing (magna cum laude)

• Harrison Priest of Dalton, bachelor of science in computer science

University of North Georgia President Bonita C. Jacobs recognized students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2019 semester. Students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours in bachelor’s degree programs who achieved a 4.0 grade point average were named to the President’s Honor Roll. Students enrolled in associate degree programs who met the same level of achievement were named to the President’s List. Local students included:

The deans of each of the University of North Georgia’s five colleges — the College of Arts & Letters, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences & Professions, the Mike Cottrell College of Business and the College of Science & Mathematics — announced the names of those students who made their respective lists for fall 2019. Dean’s List recognition is achieved by having at least a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than a B. Local students included:
