• Everyone is welcome to come to Bethel A.M.E. Church’s 152nd anniversary on Sunday, Feb. 16. The Rev. Larry William Hudson, presiding elder of the North Atlanta District, will bring the Word at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. If you have questions, call Pastor Mary Ramsey at (770) 875-6115.
• For the winter months only, Bethel A.M.E. Church Bible study and prayer service is on the conference line due to colder weather and it getting darker earlier in the evening. Dial (775) 799-9148 and you will be connected directly with church family members.

• A marriage enrichment event, “Marriage: From Mediocre to Marvelous,” will be offered on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Calvary Baptist Church starting at 7 p.m. It is presented by Crossroads Ministries founder and Calvary pastor Jeff Bramblett. • Do you like to sing and have fellowship with other senior adults? Then the place for you is with the Sounds of Joy. The Sounds of Joy is a senior adult interdenominational singing group sponsored by Dalton First United Methodist Church. The group normally presents four programs a year at various nursing homes and adult care facilities in Dalton and Whitfield County. Rehearsal is each Thursday at 9:30 a.m. for one hour in the music suite of Dalton First United Methodist Church. • First Baptist Church of Dalton is offering a spring soccer league for children under 6 (ages 4 and 5) and children under 8 (ages 6 and 7). Registration begins Monday. You may register in the atrium at First Baptist Church. Any questions, please call the church at (706) 278-2911.

• Mountain Ridge Baptist Church celebrates Men’s and Women’s Day on Sunday, Feb. 16. Don Marsh of Bethel A.M.E. Church is the 11 a.m. speaker. Cynthia Smith of Hopewell Baptist Church is the 2:30 p.m. speaker. Dinner will be served after the morning service. All are welcome. • Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (AWANAS) is in full swing at Poplar Springs Baptist Church again. Joint commanders David and Angie Jumper invite youth in kindergarten through sixth grade to attend each Wednesday night from 7 to 8. Meetings are in the fellowship hall of the church. • Riverbend Church of Christ opens a benevolent house each Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for area residents in need. Individuals can choose from a variety of clothing, shoes, household items and more at no charge. The ministry is in the white house beside the church building at 2218 S. Riverbend Road. To donate items, drop them off during operating hours or leave them on the front porch. Tax receipts are available.
• Christians Under Construction, described as a practical, biblical discussion of Christian living, meets each Friday at 7 p.m. at True Gospel Holiness Church. The facilitator is Mary Coppage. The church is at 109 S. Henderson St. in Dalton.
• True Gospel Pentecostal Church Pastor Bishop Reuben Graham Sr. announces the Service of Episcopal Consecration for True Gospel ministers Evangelist Glenda Graham and Elder Comfort Washington on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the church, 109 Henderson St. Graham will be the Celebrant and Chief Consecrator. Friends, supporters and well-wishers are invited to support and witness the ordination of these two ministers.
• This Sunday, pastor and founder Wayne Cofield and Whitfield Baptist Church will celebrate their 42nd anniversary. The Sunday school hour begins at 10 a.m. with the adults and youth classes beginning a new study of the Book of Ecclesiastes. At 11 a.m. Cofield will preach. The church will have an afternoon service after lunch at 2:30 with Evangelist Kurt LaBouve from Bowden preaching and singing. Everyone is invited, and there will be a nursery available for all services including Sunday school. Whitfield Baptist is at 2134 Dug Gap Road, 2.5 miles south of Walnut Avenue, in Dalton.
