The Chinese New Year is an ancient holiday with more than 4,000 years of history. The festival is celebrated by one quarter of the world's population, more than 2 billion people. "The Friendship House teachers and caregivers appreciate the importance of celebrating different cultures; learning about cultural celebrations helps foster respect and open-mindedness for other cultures," according to Friendship House. "The celebrating our differences, as well as our common interests, can both unite and educate us."
