Many Dalton Arts Project Company dancers generously contributed items as well as their time to help sort the many donations made for the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Home, Cherokee Estate. More than 20 large boxes of clothes and shoes will be used to fill the Cherokee Estate clothes closet and help make the residents' experiences there feel more like home. Nikita Jordan, Cherokee Estate's resident director, said, "We are so grateful for all the wonderful items from DAP. We are most thankful and blessed." Sitting, from left, are Lanier Land, Lilly Grafe, Caroline Caputi, Maddie Breeden and Emery Edgeman. Standing are Ava Parkinson, Lucy Tatum, Allee Phillips and Caroline Hogshead. The Dalton Arts Project is a local nonprofit organization committed to performing arts in the northwest Georgia area. Club D is a service club for the dancers in the company, and dancers frequently serve as hands-on volunteers for the many community service ventures. Participating dancers range in age from 13 to 18 and must complete 20 hours of service as part of their membership. Berrien Long, artistic director, remarked, "Dalton Arts Project is so pleased to be donating to the girls of Cherokee Estate again. Seeing the young ladies from the Dance Theatre of Dalton helping other young ladies in the community is very rewarding for everyone."
