I enjoy a good scary story no matter the time of year. If you enjoy them, too, I have a book for you, “Case #1 Darkhill Scary Stories: The Ghost of Direwood” by Keith Robinson.
This book begins a supernatural series for young readers. Just because it is geared toward kids ages 9 and up does not mean people of more mature years won’t enjoy it. I did.

If you or your child like “Goosebumps” by R.L. Stine, this book and series is for your family. Finding books that both you and your child enjoy is an excellent way to include language nutrition at home. You both read the book or you can take turns reading to each other and then talk about it.
You may be thinking “OK, this sounds good but what is the book about?” “The Ghost of Direwood” is about a creepy town called Darkhill.
Darkhill is haunted but you would have a hard time finding anyone who wanted to talk about that.
There is a small group of 12-year-olds, Ben, Emma, Nate and Mia, who call themselves the Darkseekers. They are determined to catch the paranormal happenings of their creepy town on film.
The first book is about their investigation into the well-known ghostly woman who haunts Direwood. There is a crazy old hermit, dark woods and a ghost, of course.
There are five books in the series. Each book is about the Darkseekers filming proof of the spooky things in Darkhill. They do not have to be read in order.
