An opening reception for the Civic Arts League of Chattanooga’s latest exhibit will be at the Creative Arts Guild of Dalton, at 520 W. Waugh St., from 5:30 to 7 p.m on Friday, April 11. Members of the public are invited to the event to meet the artists. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available and there will also be a special arts-focused activity for children who attend the show.

The exhibit will feature nearly 100 pieces of original works by Civic Arts League of Chattanooga members. Participating artists’ work encompasses a wide range of styles and media, including impressionistic landscapes, florals and still life paintings, abstracts, assemblages, fabric art, one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry pieces and more.

All art will be available for sale, and is ready to hang or display. The show will be on display through May 30. Normal gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, with no open hours on Saturday or Sunday.

The Civic Arts League of Chattanooga Inc. has approximately 50 members, about 20 to 25 of whom are able to regularly attend monthly meetings. Currently, the group meets on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church at the corner of Brainerd Road and Belvoir Avenue in Chattanooga.
