• Another wrestler has died young. Former WWE grappler Lance Cade (Lance McNaught) died last Friday from heart failure. He was 29.
He began his career in 1999 and made several stops on the independent circuit before settling in with WWE. Cade, along with former partner Trevor Murdoch, held the WWE World Tag Team championships three times.
• Is Bill Goldberg next? WWE added Goldberg to its alumni page on its website, trumpeting the move with a front-page announcement. This move has fueled speculation Goldberg will return to the organization for one final match.
• WWE “Smackdown” moves to the Syfy channel on Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.
The Local Corner: Action continues at TWA.
TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. on Friday nights at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. The TWA Action Zone runs at 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Tickets for both shows are $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 6 to 12. Kids younger than 6 are admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will also be admitted free.

DCW runs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays at the DCW Arena at 1243 Cavender Rd. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for kids and children 5 and younger are admitted free.
