Tipoff time set for Dalton on Tuesday

Dalton’s girls basketball team will host Carrollton at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the second round of the Georgia High School Association’s Class 3A state tournament.

The Lady Catamounts beat Washington 66-39 in the first round Friday night, while Carrollton topped North Hall 62-57.

Dalton is 29-0 and the No. 1 seed from Region 7 after winning its fourth region title under coach Jeff McKinney earlier this month.

Carollton is 19-7 and the No. 2 seed from Region 6. The Lady Trojans won the 2009 Class 3A state title by beating Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

Tickets are $7, as set by the GHSA.
