Blue Mountain Christian hands Dalton State 82-71 loss

Dalton State College dropped its penultimate game of the regular season Tuesday night, falling at Blue Mountain Christian 82-71.
Dalton State (15-11, 11-8 Southern States Athletic Conference) trailed 43-31 at halftime and trailed by 20 at 74-54 with four minutes to play.

Dalton State closed out the game on a 17-8 spurt, but Blue Mountain (12-15, 6-13 SSAC) held on.
Matt Compas and Franklin Almonte both scored 20 to lead the Roadrunners, but the pair were the only Dalton State players to score in double figures. Almonte added a game-high 13 rebounds to his 20 for a double-double. Kawasiki Ricks scored nine, and no other Roadrunner scored more than six.
Dalton State also managed just five team assists a couple of days removed from putting up 24 assists in a win over Middle Georgia State.
Dalton State hit on just 3-of-14 3-point attempts and turned the ball over 17 times, while Blue Mountain only committed eight.
Keevin Etienne and Jalen Boyd-Savage each scored 15 to lead the Toppers, who had six players score 10 or more.
After the loss, Dalton State still hangs on to the sixth seed in the SSAC.

Dalton State has one more regular season game to go. The Roadrunners head to Marietta Saturday to play Life, currently fifth in the SSAC, at 2 p.m.
