Southeast Whitfield 12, Coosa 4

Southeast Whitfield (1-0) shot past Coosa (0-4) 12-4 Tuesday night for a win in the Raiders’ season-opener.

Southeast trailed 3-2 after three innings, but three runs in the fourth and six in the fifth broke open the game.

Mason Williams finished 3-for-4 with an RBI for Southeast. Brayden Johnson and Nate Seay each had a pair of RBIs. Grant McArthur was 2-for-3.

A quartet of Southeast pitchers helped hold Coosa to four runs and five hits. Elijah Couch, Ethan Hampton, Brayden Lay and McArthur all saw time on the mound. Couch and Hampton both struck out four, and Couch didn’t allow a hit in his 2 1/3 innings.

Southeast plays Coahulla Creek at home today at 5 p.m.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 6, Northwest Whitfield 4

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (1-2) got some revenge Tuesday against Northwest Whitfield (3-1) for the Bruins’ 10-3 Monday night win.

LFO downed Northwest 6-4 on Tuesday, holding a seventh-inning rally to three runs for Northwest.

Eli Speights and Hank Scruggs each finished 2-for-4 for Northwest, and Gavin Nuckolls and Austin Cooley both doubled. Scruggs, Trent Hixson and Hank Harrison tallied RBIs.

Northwest hosts North Murray on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Ridgeland 6, North Murray 0

North Murray (2-4) dropped 6-0 Tuesday against Ridgeland (5-0).

North Murray was held to just one hit, a Brylan Bond double.

North Murray is at Northwest Whitfield Thursday night at 5:30.
