Colts football dominating on ‘D’

Coahulla Creek’s football team has four shutouts among the highlights for its first season of football.

The Colts, who are playing a junior varsity schedule this year, beat visiting River Ridge 41-0 on Thursday night. That followed a 38-0 victory against Gilmer a week earlier.

Against River Ridge, the Colts gave up just 39 yards of offense, with the defense led by Cardarius Tarver. He had nine tackles, five of them for a loss, while also running for two touchdowns on offense.

Against Gilmer, the Colts had 425 yards of offense while holding the Bobcats to 70 yards. Hunter Williams ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more.
