High school track roundup: Coahulla Creek adds to more records for the season

The Coahulla Creek High School track team broke two school records on Tuesday, bringing its total this season to 10 records set or broken.

The Colts tied with Sonoraville on Tuesday with a score of 111, while the Lady Colts finished second to Sonoraville by a score of 105 to 96. Marc Pilcher broke two school records during the meet, resetting his own mark in the triple jump at 40 feet, 6 inches. Pilcher also broke the school record in the 200 meters with a time of 23.09 seconds.
The Colts also had first-place finishes by Coda Blackwell in the shot put, Tanner Rape in the 3,200 meters, Harris Gallegley in the 1,600 meters and Cale Ledford in the 110-meter hurdles. For the Lady Colts, Ema Turner finished first in the 400 meters with a time of 1:06.12. She also won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.51 seconds. Other top finishers for the Lady Colts were the 4×100-meter relay team (Turner, Alli Manis, Mikayla Teems and Ameris Bartley), Rayana Janke in the discus, Kaylee Bandy in the 3,200 meters and 1,600 meters, and Manis in the 100-meter hurdles.
Northwest Whitfield
Northwest Whitfield had two athletes place first at a meet on Tuesday at Southeast with Murray County, North Murray and Ringgold.
Top finishers for the Bruins included Lexi Edwards in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 6.5 inches, and Silas Griffin in the high jump at 5 feet, 10 inches.
