Colts take third at Woodward Academy duals

Despite opening the day with a pair of defeats, Coahulla Creek High School rallied to win three in a row to finish third at the Woodward Academy Duals Tournament.
The Colts opened the day getting edged out by the hosts 44-30. That was followed up with a 50-24 loss to Heritage.

But then two impressive victories, 58-12 over Hiram and 72-3 over Forrest Park, put Coahulla Creek up against South Paulding, last year’s fifth place team in Class 5A, in a battle for third place. The Colts came out on the winning end of a 46-33 decision.
Kenton Baggett (195 pounds) starred for Coahulla Creek on the day going 5-0 with all five victories coming by pinfall.
Also for the Colts, Levi Kinsey (126-132), Juan Rangle (132-138), Josh Smith (138-145), Trevor Holmes (182) and Daniel Lopez (220) all went 4-1. Gunner Scheeler (113) and O’Riely McGuire (170) went 3-2 and James Loi (120) was undefeated in two matches.
