High school soccer roundup: Coahulla Creek girls tie, boys win; Dalton player sets record

Coahulla Creek (girls) 2, Gilmer 2

Coahulla Creek tied Gilmer at home Tuesday night, 2-2.

Ana Silva had one goal and one assist for the Lady Colts (7-0-2, 2-0 in Region 6-3A), while Rachael Larsen had one goal. Yoselin Torres played keeper and had 15 saves.

Coahulla Creek hosts Adairsville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Coahulla Creek (boys) 10, Gilmer 1

Francisco Medina had three goals and three assists to lead Coahulla Creek over Gilmer at home Tuesday night, 10-1.

Ronaldo Medina added two goals for the Colts (9-2, 2-0 in Region 6-3A). Emmanuel Arredondo and Jaime Rodriguez each had one goal and one assist. Orlando Avila, Eddie Guerrero and Angel Rodriguez each had one assist.

Coahulla Creek hosts Adairsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Dalton (girls) 10, South Cobb 0

Dalton defeated South Cobb at home on Tuesday, 10-0.

Elizabeth Ramirez had four goals, GiGi Robertson had three and Monse Hernandez had two for the Lady Catamounts (4-1, 2-1 in Region 6-6A). Bailey Gleaton added the final goal and also had two assists. Hernandez had four assists, while Robertson and Ramirez each had one. Jacqueline Sanchez added another assist. Stacy Zamora split time in goal and had six saves, while Eileen Torres had two saves in the second half to preserve the shutout.

Dalton hosts Northwest Whitfield at 5 p.m. today.

Dalton (boys) 6, South Cobb 2

Omar Hernandez set the all-time career school record for assists on Tuesday as Dalton defeated South Cobb at home, 6-2.

Hernandez, a senior, led the offense for the Catamounts (8-0, 3-0 in Region 6-6A) with two goals and added one assist to make his career total 53. Ivan Ceja, Nathan Rincon, Yahir Paez and Filemon Quintero each scored a goal. Harrison Fraire, Jose Moreno, Tony Saldana and Cristian Zaragoza each had an assist. Nester Mendez had two saves at keeper.

Dalton hosts Northwest Whitfield at 7 p.m. today.

Murray County (boys) 4, Adairsville 0

Osvaldo Alonzo earned his third shutout this season at keeper for Murray County as the Indians defeated Adairsville at home on Tuesday, 4-0.

Isaac Soto led the offense for Murray County (5-1-2, 2-0 in Region 6-3A) with two goals and one assist. Jessie Martinez and Andres Perez each had one goal, while Cesar Lara added one assist.

Murray County plays at 7 p.m. today at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

North Murray (girls) 3, Cedartown 0

North Murray defeated Cedartown on the road Tuesday night, 3-0.

Marry Trejo had a hat trick (three goals) to lead the Lady Mountaineers offense. Marlenni Valdez had two assists. Adrianna Rangel had the shutout in goal.

North Murray (2-3) plays its first region game of the season at 5:30 p.m. on Friday when it hosts Haralson County.

Northwest Whitfield (girls) 6, Calhoun 1

Northwest Whitfield improved its record Tuesday with a win over Calhoun on the road, 6-1.

Heather Allen and Vanessa Coronel each had hat tricks (three goals) for the Lady Bruins (6-1-1). Jailyne Martinez had two assists. Brooke Alvarez had eight saves at keeper.

Northwest plays at 5 p.m. today at Dalton.
