Coahulla Creek 14, Trion 7

Coahulla Creek (1-0) began its season with a win as the Colts charged back from a 6-1 deficit to double-up Trion (0-2) 14-7 Monday.

Creek trailed 5-1 after three innings, but exploded for five runs in the fourth to tie the game. The Colts went ahead with two runs in the sixth, and Trion made it 8-7 with another run in the bottom of the inning. Creek again found a big inning, turning in six runs in the seventh to pull away.

Easton Parker was 2-for-2 with a triple and five RBIs for the Colts. He scored two on a single in the fourth inning, and his triple brought home two in the sixth, helping spur both big offensive innings for the Colts.

Korby Womac had a trio of RBIs for Creek, and Luke Swiney and Isaiah Hernandez both had two. Hernandez doubled.

Northwest Whitfield 10, Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe 3

Northwest Whitfield (3-0) piled on five runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe (1-2) 10-3 Monday night.

Northwest led 5-1 entering the sixth, then doubled its run total in the Bruins’ final at-bat. LFO added two runs in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t get any closer.

Cameron Collins finished 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Northwest. Eli Speights was 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs. Will Wade and Hank Scruggs both doubled. Hank Harrison and John Wilkerson combined to pitch most of the game for Northwest, with Caden Ramsey mopping up an out. The two play the second game of a home-and-home series, this time at LFO, tonight at 5.

Arnold 5, Dalton 0

Dalton (1-2) dropped a game 5-0 played at Arnold High School (1-0) in Panama City Beach, Florida, on Monday.

The Catamounts couldn’t get their bats heated up at the beach against the Marlins, totaling just one hit, a Connor Stockard single.

Catamount pitchers Drew Brown, Josh Mitchell and Stockard combined to allow just three hits, but those were enough for the Marlins to cash in five runs.

Back in their home state, Dalton hosts South Paulding on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Armuchee 8, Murray County 3

Murray County (0-3) dropped a game 8-3 against Armuchee (1-2) at home on Monday.

Armuchee grabbed an 8-1 advantage leading into the bottom of the seventh. A two-run rally, led by RBIs from Mason Weaver and Trent Childers, got the Indians a little closer but not enough to complete the comeback.

That Childers hit, a double, was one of just two managed by Murray in the game. Childers also singled earlier in the game.

Murray County hosts Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
