High school baseball roundup: Dalton defeats Coahulla Creek

Dalton 13, Coahulla Creek 3
Led by the bat of Conrad Coleman, Dalton (3-3) shut down Coahulla Creek (3-1) 13-3 on Monday night.

Coleman finished 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and drove in four Dalton RBIs. Connor Stockard brought in three runs and doubled.
Josh Mitchell pitched all five innings for Dalton, striking out four and keeping Creek off the board for four out of the five innings. The Colts broke through for three runs in the fourth to make Dalton’s lead 9-3.
Colton Simpkins belted a three-run homer to get the Colts on the scoreboard, scoring Isaiah Hernandez and Cole Staten.
Dalton hosts Gordon Lee tonight at 5:30, while Creek plays at Northwest on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Northwest Whitfield 3, Gordon Lee 0
Northwest Whitfield (6-1) shut out Gordon Lee (2-3) 3-0 on Monday.

Sam Crossen went all seven innings in the shutout from the mound for Northwest. Crossen struck out eight and allowed five hits.
Crosssen had an RBI for the Bruins, as did Trent Hixson. Eli Speights finished 2-for-4.
Northwest plays Coahulla Creek at home at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Fellowship Christian 11, Christian Heritage 6
Christian Heritage (1-6) dropped Tuesday’s game 11-6 at Fellowship Christian (2-4).
Christian Heritage scored three runs in the fifth inning to go up 5-2, but Fellowship cut it to 5-4 after the fifth, then piled up seven runs in the sixth.
The Lions managed one in the top of the seventh.
David Person had three RBIs and a double for Christian Heritage. Aiden Caylor doubled twice and drove in one run, and Owen Hartley had an RBI. Sawyer Corn and Jackson Locke also doubled.
Christian Heritage plays at Fannin County Thursday at 5 p.m.
Gordon Central 10, Southeast Whitfield 0
Southeast Whitfield (2-6) was blanked 10-0 by Gordon Central (1-4) Tuesday.
Seven first-inning runs helped the Warriors quickly pull away.
Southeast was held to one hit, a single by Elijah Couch.
The two teams play again at Gordon Central at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
