Dalton State releases women’s soccer schedule

Dalton State College women’s soccer coach Saif Alsafeer has released the 2024 women’s soccer schedule. Nine home and eight road matches dot a difficult schedule for the Lady Roadrunners as they look to break out and head to Montgomery for the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament semifinals.

“We’re very excited to release our schedule to the public,” said Alsafeer. “We’ve had tremendous supporters of our teams follow us here in Dalton and on our away trips. We’ve packed the schedule with exciting fixtures that our fans won’t want to miss. It’s a great time to be a Roadrunner.”

The first match for the Lady Birds will be Aug. 17 with a 2 p.m. clash with Indiana-Kokomo. Consecutive away matches at Bryan and Sewanee follow on Aug. 20 and 23.

DSC returns to the home pitch on Sept. 1 against Milligan. The match against the Lady Buffaloes is the first of three straight as the Lady Roadrunners take on Southern Union State after a long break on September 10. The final match of the home stand comes on Sept. 14 when Agnes Scott makes a return visit from last season.

Conference play begins Sep. 19 with a trip to Tifton to take on new SSAC member Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The women will then meet the men in Thomasville for a doubleheader of action on Sept. 21 against Thomas.

Contest at home against Faulkner and Point comes next on Sept. 25 and 27. They hit the road for two more the next week against Brewton-Parker and Middle Georgia State as the calendar turns to October.

Big games against Mobile and William Carey occur on Oct. 11 and 13 followed by a mid-week match against Blue Mountain Christian on the 16th. Dalton State will finish off the regular season on the road on Oct. 19 and 24 with trips to Pulaski, Tennessee, and Marietta to take on UT Southern and Life.

Post-season play begins on Nov. 1 and 2 with SSAC Quarterfinal matches. Winners will then travel to Montgomery, Alabama, Nov. 6 and 8 for the SSAC Semifinals and Final.

The NAIA 1st and 2nd Rounds will take place Nov. 21 and 23, with winners advancing to the NAIA Final Site Dec. 2 through 9 in Pensacola, Florida.
