First-half turnovers doom Murray County in loss to Towns County

Last season, Towns County scored just 64 total points on its way too an 0-10 record.
Aided by five first-half Murray County turnovers, Towns put up 42 in one game on Saturday.

Towns County defeated Murray County 42-14 Saturday afternoon at Murray County in a game that had to be moved from its originally-scheduled time of 7:30 p.m. Friday night because of storms.
Murray quarterbacks threw five interceptions in the first half, setting up Towns County repeatedly with short fields, and the visitors converted.
Towns led 28-0 at halftime, with all four touchdown drives coming off the turnovers.
Murray moved the ball well on the ground, piling up 283 rushing yards, but timely and costly turnovers removed scoring chances until the game was in hand.
The Indians got on the board first with a Jagger Reed 80-yard touchdown run to cut the score to 42-6, and Osvaldo Ambriz scored a late 6-yard touchdown to make it 42-14.
Murray County stays at home next week to play against Ringgold for its Region 7-2A opener. The game is Friday night at 7:30 on Murray Field.
