High school softball roundup: After keeping game going with tying runs, Creek walks off Ringgold in 9th

- Coahulla Creek defeated Ringgold 7-6 on Thursday.
Coahulla Creek 7, Ringgold 6
A walk-off sacrifice fly from Shelly Johnson in the bottom of the ninth scored Lexi Dunn and lifted Coahulla Creek (14-7) to a 7-6 win over Ringgold (7-14) Thursday night.

Ringgold led 5-4 entering the bottom of the seventh, but a Jaymee O’Neal single scored Bailey Warnix to tie the game and send it into extras.
With the Lady Colts again facing a one-run deficit in the eighth and needing to score or lose, Warnix drove in Caroline Reed to knot the game at 6-6. After Creek held Ringgold scoreless in the top of the ninth, O’Neal singled to get on board, Dunn came in as a courtesy runner and Johnson brought her home for the win.
Johnson finished with two RBIs in the win, and Warnix went 3-for-4. Warnix, Haley Curtis and Larkin Woods combined to lead the victory from the mound.
Creek plays at North Murray Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Dalton 15, Hiram 5
Dalton (5-13) rolled to a 15-5 win over Hiram (4-15) Thursday.

The Lady Catamounts led 9-3 after three innings and added six more across the fifth and sixth.
Nayeli Olvera and Leah Cagle both drove in three runs. Olvera finished 2-for-4 with a double. Samya Simpson had a pair of RBIs.
Kaylee Tatum struck out eight in a complete game from the mound.
Dalton plays Allatoona on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Allatoona 7, Southeast Whitfield 5
Southeast Whitfield (1-19) put up a tough fight against 16-2 Allatoona, but the Lady Raiders fell two runs shy in a 7-5 loss.
Allatoona held a slim lead for much of the game, then turned a 3-2 lead into 7-2 with four runs across the fifth and sixth. Southeast needed five runs in the seventh to tie and keep the game going. The Lady Raiders got three of them, but couldn’t get any closer.
Michaela Pendley went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Southeast. Avery Skyles doubled, while Allie Azurdia and Destiney Kenemore both went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Chyann Blevins also drove in a run.
Southeast hosts Cass on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Armuchee 13, Christian Heritage 7
Christian Heritage (6-12) fell 13-7 to Armuchee (13-9) Thursday.
The game was tied at five runs apiece entering the bottom of the fourth, but Armuchee took back the lead and pulled away from there.
Reese Bailey tallied three RBIs for Christian Heritage, and Kate Mireles went 4-for-4 and doubled. Ariana Battle drove in two runs.
Christian Heritage travels to Fannin County on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Ridgeland 15, Northwest Whitfield 11
A seven-run burst in the seventh inning led Ridgeland (8-14) to a 15-11 win over Northwest Whitfield (6-16) Thursday.
Northwest led 9-8 enetring the inning. Ridgeland piled up the runs for a 15-9 lead, and Northwest could manage just the two runs in their attempt to tie.
In the high-scoring game, Northwest’s Libby Lee and Lindsey Harris each had three RBIs. Harris finished 4-for-5 with a double. Lee, Maggie Brooker and Sloan Pender each had three hits.
Northwest plays at Calhoun on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Rockmart 9, North Murray 1
North Murray (6-18) fell 9-1 to Rockmart (15-4) Thursday.
Rockmart led 2-1 after four but piled up seven runs in the fifth.
Kylie Corbin drove in the run for North Murray.
North Murray hosts Coahulla Creek on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
Sonoraville 8, Murray County 0
Murray County (9-9) was shut out 8-0 by Sonoraville (17-6) Thursday.
The Lady Indians were held without a hit by Sonoraville.
Murray will play Ringgold at home on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
