The Dalton Academy has announced the launch of its wrestling program, marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for the school and its athletic community. The 2024-25 wrestling season will see the Pumas take to the mats for the first time, under the leadership of Head Coach Michael Keefe, a former head wrestling coach at Dalton High.

“We are proud to introduce wrestling to The Dalton Academy’s athletics lineup,” said TDA Athletic Director Michael Bolen. “This is a monumental step for our students, and with coach Keefe’s proven track record of success, we are confident that our student-athletes will thrive in this new endeavor.”

Coach Keefe brings awealth of experience and accomplishments to The Dalton Academy’s wrestling program.

As a wrestler at Ringgold High School, Keefe was a two-time state champion. He wrestled collegiately at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was an NCAA All-American and two-time Southern Conference Champion. Keefe holds the SOCON record for most wins and is a member of the UTC Hall of Fame.

Keefe has spent time coaching at Ringgold and Dalton, where he’s coached one state duals championship team and one runner-up and several individual state title winners.
