Christian Heritage hangs on to down Gordon Central, extend streak to 6 games

Christian Heritage (6-1, 4-0 Region 7-A DI) led 21-0 over Gordon Central (3-4, 1-3 Region 7-A DI) Friday and held on for a 28-20 win over the Warriors to extend its win streak to six games.
Two first-quarter rushing touchdowns by Carter Triplett followed by a 25-yard Triplett passing connection with Charlie Idom made the score 21-0 in the second.

Christian Heritage was driving trying to make the score 28-0, but Gordon Central forced a fumble, then got on the board with a passing touchdown late in the first half.
The Warriors cut the score to 21-12 midway through the third.
Thalian Christopher extended the Christian Heritage lead to 28-12 with a 14-yard run with 7:55 to go, but Gordon Central struck back with a long touchdown pass to cut the margin back to one score.
The Lions, though, were able to keep the ball and kill the remainder of the clock.
Triplett totaled 233 passing yards and 87 rushing yards, while Christopher had 52 on the ground. Idom accounted for 127 receiving yards.
Christian Heritage, which stayed unbeaten in Region 7-A DI play, plays at Chattooga next Friday at 7:30 p.m.
