Dalton State soccer: Men hold Middle Georgia State without a shot in shutout win, women take first loss

The Dalton State College men’s soccer team earned a 4-0 shutout victory over Middle Georgia State on Saturday.

The Roadrunners (9-0-1, 3-0-1 Southern States Athletic Conference) collected an SSAC win by getting out to a 3-0 halftime lead over Middle Georgia State (4-5-3, 1-4-1 SSAC), adding another goal after the break and shutting out the Knight attack.

In fact, the Roadrunners didn’t allow a single shot from the Knights, piling up 16 shots of their own while not allowing Middle Georgia to get even a look at the goal.

Leonardo Seixas scored the first Dalton State goal at the 8:52 mark off an assist from Jesus Huitanda. Juan Demichelis scored at the 26:14 mark, and Kazuma Ishizuka made it 3-0 just over four minutes later.

Demichelis added his second goal off a Pedro Nunes assist 64:05 into the game.

Dalton State hosts ninth-ranked Mobile on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

While the men remained undefeated, the Lady Roadrunners took their first loss of the season Saturday.

Dalton State (4-1-3, 2-1-2 SSAC) fell to Middle Georgia State (5-7-0, 3-3-0 SSAC) 1-0 on Saturday.

Middle Georgia’s Lujaine El-Shami scored the lone goal of the game at the 54:14 mark of the second half.

Dalton State outshot Middle Georgia State 11-9 in the game but couldn’t get any goals to go.

Ava Vandoren led DSC with two shots on goal.

Dalton State hosts Mobile Friday at 5 p.m.
