Southeast’s Lively earns track scholarship at Berry College

Southeast Whitfield High School senior Ian Lively recently signed his letter of intent to compete in men’s track and field at Berry College, an NCAA Division III school near Rome.

A sprinter for the Raider track and field program, Lively is a two-time recipient of the teams’ coaches award, was named best male sprinter on the team and is a four-time scholar athlete.

Berry, a private liberal arts college in Mount Berry, near Rome, awarded Lively a Dean’s Scholarship, which is worth $100,000. Lively is ranked third in his class academically at Southeast Whitfield and is a two-time Advanced Placement Scholar. Lively is also a member of the National Honor Society and Southeast’s Beta Club.

Lively also played football for Southeast Whitfield and was selected as a team captain by his teammates.

Berry competes in Division III’s Southern Athletic Association.
